I understand that the nest only works with low voltage wiring but every baseboard heater i find wants a high voltage thermostat. Electric baseboard and fan heaters work with line voltage thermostats which can be either 120 or 240 volts. Those are controlled by low voltage thermostats which use 24 volts. Smart thermostats meet baseboard heaters.

The honeywell lyric nest and other smart thermostats are designed to work with central home heating systems. Nest operates on low voltage around 24 volts. When you say baseboard you have to specify if you re using hot water or electric. District or collective heating systems that are controlled by an accessible individual electric valve are compatible with nest thermostats. Installing a compatible smart thermostat is quick and easy. There seems to be confusion here.

Hot water baseboards are run off a furnace which uses low voltage for tstat control.
